Profile Evaluation (MSc Finance)

Thank you Admissionado for your reply. I have been scoring really well on the practice test and OG questions. I scored 730 on my diagnostic test and have been preparing for 4 months.

As for the demographics, I believe my country, Egypt, is underrepresented, if at all represented, in these programs. What kind of interesting life stories do you mean?

If it's any help, I'll be participating in the next CFA Research Challenge on behalf of my university. However, that'll be after the application deadlines.

So, MIT and Oxford are not doable? I'd rather save the application fee if they are totally out of my league. I forgot to mention that I'm also targeting LSE but currently in contact with the admissions team regarding a problem I have with the admission process. I have also been looking at WHU but haven't been able to find good funding opportunities till now.

Are there any other programs that you would recommend?

Are you only targeting Masters in Finance degrees in the UK/EU and the US? Do you have a preference for one over the other? What about Canada?

How many schools are you willing to apply to? I honestly wouldn't worry about the application fee. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of the degree itself. You should consider applying to several places to maximize your chances at both admission and scholarship money. If you can get scholarship money, the fee will pay for itself many, many times over. You can also ask for an application fee waiver, which sometimes is granted simply by inquiring!

I understand what you're saying about the application fee. But this is why I need the scholarship money; even the application fee is a lot in my country.

Ideally, I want to take full advantage of the 5 free GMAT reports, but I have been struggling with finding suitable programs.

Regarding the location, my understanding is that MSc programs are better in Europe as they don't hold much weight in the US. I'm not sure about Canada though. I haven't thought about it and I guess it's for a good reason: there aren't high ranking schools or financial hubs there.

ESSEC
Cambridge (Judge)

I would still try for Oxford (Said) to give yourself that chance. Keep Bocconi.

You could also consider adding Imperial and Warwick.

Thanks for the recommendations. The problem with the schools you listed, however, is funding. I am targeting programs with funding opportunities available to cover all tuition fees.

I also am trying to schedule the free consultation on the website but it keeps saying "token has expired" .
