Every year, the top schools and programs REJECT thousands of candidates with GMATs above 730, with high flying IB & Consulting careers.
While some of that happens because the schools want diversity, but a major reason remains that few of these candidates are able to display the maturity, leadership and teamwork that the schools want in their admitted cohorts. And these traits (and many more) do NOT come through GMAT scores or GPAs or such; They come through exceptional essays that incorporate the stories of the candidates' lives, the spike factors in their lives and a hunger for learning that these applicants are able to communicate through their essays and other application materials.
As such, each expert consultant will tell you the same thing, that GMATs and GPAs matter, but your story matters much more than you think.
