Re: Wharton EMBA ( Philly/ SF) 2023 intake- class of 2025 [#permalink]
Congrats to all. I wonder what the application/acceptance rates look like now given the change in policy for EMBA i.e. interview invites only + given the change in landscape over the last few years (Economy, COVID, etc.).

Anyone gone through the interviews yet for the 2025 EMBA class? How did it go?

Last few years have been extremely competitive. Given the fact that most jobs became remote etc last 2 years gave more people chance to study and apply. Thats the reason possibly they did interview by invitation. Not sure if the economy has any impact this point. But surely a weird year!

Done with my Interview. Overall good (could have been better, if I had prepared).

Just the regular questions. Very conversational.

Applications for this year will be lower due to economy. R2 will be strong because the submission date was pulled in (lot of folks were surprised). R1 is heavy with last year waitlist group.

Thank you for sharing. Interesting trend. I didn’t realize that executive MBA was following the economy as opposed to full-time programs which tend to be countercyclical. It makes sense, but I just never realized it…. thank you!

Hi all, do company sponsored candidates have higher chances of getting through vs self funded candidates?

Well if your profile is good, it does not matter.

However, I would think for executive MBA fully sponsored candidates get some benefit -
1) Shows that the employer/company has seen the potential in the candidate and provides additional validation for future success.
2) Universities can claim X candidates are sponsored on their class profile.
3) Scholarship (although limited) can be focused on other candidates.
4) Executive MBA is a business in its own. It's Cha-Ching for universities. High likely this individual will wrap the courses in time and complete it.

However, I think in general no.of such candidates will be low and should not be a concern if you don't have sponsorship.

Hi R1 applicant here! I saw last year's forum and noticed a bunch of people got calls from AdComm anywhere from the day of to a week before decision day. Just was curious whether anyone got a call yet?

Are there very less applications this year? Even after round 2 this forum discussion has only 12 messages, compared to previous years this is very less. Does anyone have any insights about this trend?

Also waiting for my R2 result. Wharton EMBA website said R2 interview release date is 2/22 (this Wednesday). I feel the economy and large tech layoffs may have impact on the overall applicants, especially for the SF cohort?

Wharton started releasing interview invites for R2. I have received mine today. Could R1 admits share their interview experience here to help R2 applicants? Thanks in advance.
