real gmat - 51 (99%)

the challenge interface was being re-done during most of this time so the built in timer wasn't working. thus you could keep going after 75 minutes. i started timing myself. scores marked with a * indicate when i went past the 75 minute mark. in some cases i spent up to 100 minutes. my goal early was on to learn how to do every question, even if it meant struggling during the test. then, from test 16 onwards or so, i was very good at doing the majority of question types. i then started to focus on test-taking strategy and would skip questions in the interest of time. by the last 3-4 challenges i was finishing a few minutes early. also, i would absolutely recommend that you go back and review each question whether you got it right or wrong. make sure you are tackling the problem the fastest way. i spent about 2 hours total on each challenge...75 taking the test and 40 minutes or so reviewing each question and re-doing questions i knew i could tackle faster.

i would really like to thank gmatclub for these challenges. w/o a doubt these challenges raised my score from 85-90% to 99%. the only other math prep i did was the last 1/3-1/4 questions in OG11 and OG quant workbook. i haven't tried mgmat, kaplan 800, etc.. but i would absolutely recommend these challenges if you're shooting for 49+ quant. well, well worth the $79.

i'm also doing the challenges but in the 'new' interface...is there a difference between the number of questions answered correctly and the 'score' that 'CalSpeedRacer' posted?

please advise...

How is the verbal challenge compared with the real GMAT exam?

To Pansarda:

Percentile scores were available earlier because a lot of people took the Challenges at the same time. We are currently working on getting the percentile scores back.

To Deeeee:

The idea behind the GMAT Club test (Challenges) is that if you score highly in them real GMAT math questions will not be difficult for you.

I have just purchased the challenges, took the first one, and failed completely!
I consider myself good at math,but I had 20/36 wright! (25%)
(There are a lot of tricks here!)

Now I wonder, is it going to get better for me after I do all of them, or should I take a radical turn in my study strategy?

I would appreciate any advice!
Thanks!

Both...focus on eliminating the mistakes you make in the challenges and keep doing them. You'll just get better from here on out

Thank You very much, eschn3am, for both, speedy reply and the encouragement!

I see the sign of UW Madison in your corner. I am most interested in that particular school.

Do You perhaps know something "more" about the school?

Not yet! Both my parents and most of my extended family went to UW-Madison for undergrad and my father has an MBA from the Real Estate & Urban Land Economics program back when Mr. Graaskamp was in charge. I should probably either modify or delete my avatar as my top choice list has expanded from 2 schools to 3.

I have lived in Madison and I can tell you it's an amazing town and a great college environment. What's particularly attractive to you about UW?

The MBA program!
I like the fact that they are a highly specialized school.
Also, I like the organization, the career possibilities, and the Nicholas Center for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking –especially the practical experience that it offers….

And of course, Madison is great place to be (at least so I am told).

I am definitely applying there.

I'm facing a different problem with Maths challenges, I'm able to finish most of test in 45 minutes but end up making mistakes (mostly in DS around 8 per test) questions. I dont think the errors are becuase i'm going too fast. I think there are more trap DS questions in challenges than GMAT prep or OG. I mean, there is no doubt these questions are good .... but they are testing more on trap situations than the Mathematical concepts....

Does anyone else feel the same way....

Test Correct Total % Correct Mean time Percentile
m01 --- 29 --- 37 --- 78.4% -- 1m 10s -- 84.3%
m02 --- 27 --- 37 --- 73.0% -- 1m 18s -- 47.3%
m24 --- 28 --- 37 --- 75.7% -- 1m 18s -- 73.3%
m25 --- 28 --- 36 --- 77.8% -- 1m 14s -- 73.9%
