i took the test
i don't blv they have a timer on our screen
however hte proctor can see the time
they always let you know once 7 mins of your break are over
so that you can initiate the process of fingerprinting and re-entering the room

I took the test last week, and there IS a timer. It kicks in as soon as you click YES to take the break.

I'd recommend taking 8 minutes of break time to allow the proctor to sign you in, unlock the computer, etc etc.

Same experience as empanado's. There was a break time on the monitor and my photo too was on the screen looking as if I had just got up from a wild nightmare :P

The following is taken from the Pearson Vue's GMAT rules/guideline section at :

https://www.mba.com/mba/TaketheGMAT/TheE ... in2006.htm

"Two optional breaks are scheduled during the test administration. If you exceed the time allowed for these breaks, the excess time will automatically be deducted from the time you have to complete the next section of the test. "

The very same thing was on my screen when I clicked "yes" on 10 minutes break suggestion. There was photo and timer. In fact photo was very strange, I could not believe it was me....
