Thanks for posting your details miketal20. How far are you with your essays ? To your original question, I heard of people getting in with low 600s but 640 to 730 is the middle 80 percentile range for NYU PT.

It is advisable to retake if you have time.

Thanks.

willtryagain,
i just finished the first essay. i didn't realize that a 250-word essay is actually really short!
anyway, i'm planning to send my application by mid-August.
1st choice program is washington sq-weekends.

lnaik,
goodluck to you. we are in the same gmat range. keep us posted with any updates about your application.

I noticed that too. I guess Stern is trying to see how much the applicants can adhere to the KISS guideline.

Kaplan vs Standardized Scoring [#permalink]
Hello Everybody,

Just a quick question for everybody.Has anyone of you gone with Kaplan for the GMAT test preparation??
I have been appearing for some practice tests by Kaplan but haven't been able to score more than 600.I understand that the scoring is a little but different from that of standardised GMAT test scoring.

But I'm wondering how different the scoring is.Please give your feedback about the same as I still need to appear for my GMAT exam.

Thanks,

My Kaplan scores were:

Kap CD 1 - 480 (M41, V0) - did not try verbal
Kap CD 2 - 570 (M39, V29)

Actual GMAT - 700 (Q46, V40).

Kaplan's scoring is very conservative and not similar to the actual GMAT.

Update - Stern Part-Time Application for Admission was submitted on 7/17/2007 5:37:00 PM E.S.T.

Umesh - Kaplan books came with a CD which contained tests. CD1 and CD2 are tests 1 and 2 from the CD.

Hi scorpioguy,

Did you get the Application Receipt email from "NYU Stern MBA Admissions"? I applied July 12 but still waiting for the notification. Please let me know once you receive the email. Thanks!

Update on July 20 - I received email from NYU yesterday saying that my admission has been received and they are processing it. If any additional info is required they would be contacting me. But, it (next email / contact) might not happen until Sep 15. They also say about the FIFO process in reviewing the apps.

FYI - I had sent an email mentioning issues with my recs and the above info was a response to that email. So don't know if that matters.

*********************

No - I am still waiting. I believe delay might be since one of my recs has not been submitted.
