NYC is just a 40 mins drive for me

Not keen on these MBA Tour, where we seldom get time with the adcom !

I try to attend the bschool receptions ,which are more helpful

Just my 2 cents!

I actually attended an event out in Indianapolis for the Consortium. They had 13 schools there and to my surprise Isser Gallogy(Dean of Admissions) was the represenative for NYU. There was about 5 students interested in NYU and I actually got to spend about a half hour talking with him. When I went to an informational session at NYU there was probably 25 people all trying to speak to one admissions represenative.

I've never heard of these tours. How are they organized? Does anyone have a link where I can get more info?

Go to https://www.topmba.com. It's like a career fair but instead of different employers there are different MBA programs. Most of the information you could get from just reading their website but it provides you with a chance to speak directly with someone from the school without having to travel far from home. So if you live Florida it would take some time and money to visit Yale, but you'd be foolish no to go and check out their booth when they visit Miami.
