Where else are you applying nervousgmat? I was impressed by Owen when I visited. It seemed to have the quality of a top program, but it has smaller class size and lower GMATs.

I'm applying to Kellogg, Ross, Duke, Darden and UNC. I'll make up my mind about U of Chicago once I visit as I still don't have the "feel" for the school's culture.

Interesting...UNC is another school I'm applying to that doesn't have a thread yet, but I won't be ED for that.

Nashville's a great city, that's a big part influencing my application. There's not many places that are better for entrepreneurship right now.

Here is a thread for UNC.

Paul, are you also applying to Emory? I can't believe how little publicity some of the schools like Vandy and Emory get on this forum, or on forums in general.

I second this opinion...Nashville is a growing and thriving area. I have lived here for 3 years and the area is great.

Yeah, like we talked about before lanter, Nashville is a big part of the reason that makes Owen appealing.

I've turned in my application, and hopefully all will go well. I know the difference at Owen is that I will probably have to stay local for a job afterward, but considering how great Nashville seems, that doesn't seem all that bad.

Yeah, so far just planning on applying to UNC, Duke, Owen, and Berkeley. We'll see how the admits/dings shape up, then maybe I'll have to rethink things.

I did my undergrad at Vandy - loved the school and loved the city. I think Nashville is even a better city now than it was in the late 90s.

No word from anyone at Owen yet. On Tuesday, I went to an Inside the MBA event in Portland and talked with Lauren from admissions. She said their although their deadline for getting back to applicants is January 15 for R1, they'll trying to let people know around the beginning of the year.

She said that, like everywhere this year, they have a big increase in applicants. They've brought in a couple extra readers for the applications and are making their way through.

If you haven't interviewed yet, I'm not sure. I interviewed back in August, before I had submitted my application.

I've heard the same thing from Admissions regarding the increase in applicants this early in the process. The class of 09 is the largest in Owen history, and by the sounds of it the class of 10 has a good shot of beating us out.

Hopefully more applicants means there's better applicants as well.

How's your first half-a-year finishing up eazyb?
