Calling all Cornell 2008 applicants

The tablecloths are all specific to the school. They're a variety of colors depending on the the school. They have the school logo's on the front with the school name so you can see what school is at what table from across the room. EVERY other school had one. Even the tables for the GMAT prep services had them. Cornell did not.

Hmm.. sounds like kavet 1 cornell 0.

I know you may look upon this as a poor impression for Cornell, but give them another chance.

If you are deciding not to apply to Cornell because of a table cloth, I will be quite delighted :wink:
Less comptetition for me.

Hahaha, don't worry, I'm still applying. I like the program. But it did cause me to question them. I don't think I'm very big competition for you though, so no need to worry about that.

Yeah, you're right, they should have one. But I'm assuming that something other than the lack of table cloth turned you off. How did your conversation go?

Honestly the conversation went ok. I liked what she had to say about the smaller class size and the small community. She told me about the Parks Fellowship which of course would be lovely. I'm still very interested in the school and program and am still applying there. I probably won't go there unless they give me a fabulous scholarship, but a girl can dream, right?

Something I've learned: always let them say no to you. In other words, putting yourself out there won't hurt. As Oprah would say, you go, girl!

c'mon, give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the luggage got lost or the FedEx didn't arrive in time. That's happened to me a few times recruiting for my company.

Anyway, if you're disappointed with that, wait till you see how "good" UCLA's PR is... if I didn't know it was a good school, I wouldn't even apply...

-Female

- 26, - until dec 12th :)

- 5 yrs of experience in fashion design for large retailer and brand management for large brand.

- Gmat- R-1- horrible, R-2- I have been studying very hard, just wanna break 600.

- future focus- brand management in retail with option of consumer products

I just got back from Ithaca!!! I have to say I was very impressed. I am a big city girl but Ithaca has a beautiful, huge campus and has a fashion and textile department which was a plus. The students were very helpful, and offered assistance with my essays. I def felt the love at Cornell, and will be applying.

Def first class! They brought us in front of the lunch line, and everyone was so pleasant. I was in my New York state of mind, thinking people where going to yell out "hey no bussin", "we were here first", but no one even cut their eye. We stopped students in the hall randomly and they stopped what ever they were doing to speak to us, to introduce us to other students and staff. I asked the Admissions people if they paid people to talk to us, lol. I went with a friend and we plan to return for the 7th annual symposium Oct 19-20th.

Though Ithaca is kinda in the middle of nowhere, it's a great city and Cornell has a great campus. I did undergrad in Syracuse which isn't very far away, and visited Ithaca quite often.

I'm applying to Cornell R2, not sure if I will be able to make it out for an admissions event, though. I might try to do one in late October.
