I am so worried about the short essay I submitted with my app to ED@Yale. I have just read it, and it is just wrong.

When I submitted it, I was quite happy with what I had written.

Do you ever get this feeling about your essays? Or is it just me who gets these mood swings?

it is unfortunate that yale hardly lets one write much in the essays...so few questions and such stringent word limits!

Submitted for R1 today....but it still says it's waiting on my GMAT scores.....yet I had them sent when I took the exam on 8/18, I even checked the GMAT site and it says they sent them on 8/20. Anyone else have this problem?

I e-mailed them, we'll see what they say.

i didnt apply to yale, but from another application i learned that scores arent "received" until your app is processed, even if you sent in the scores months ago. im guessing nobody was processing apps during the weekend.

That's probably the case, but I saw that and freaked out since I over analyze everything having to do with apps, as most of us are at this point probably, haha.

I guess the thing to do is not to set your expectations too high. After all, lots of people visit schools they like, and ... get dinged.

I think if you're invited, be sure to play that card hard in your essays.

I received the invite today...should be a great weekend. Hope to see you there.

I have not been extended the invitation. I wonder what the reason was: my essay, my CV, both or the technical issues like visas, international airfare, etc. Nevertheless, it feels like a ding.

Are you applying in R1?

I really don't think they manage the applicant list with the list who applied to explore diversity.

No, R2 because of TOEFL trouble -- (no seats in China until the end of January).

Yes, they still said to "please be aware that this decision is not necessarily predictive of your future candidacy to the Yale School of Management. We encourage you to keep Yale in your plans as you pursue your MBA plans"

I will give it a try, anyway.

This gives no indication of acceptance. I will have my application submitted tomorrow anyway so I can't include the trip in my essays. Who knows, I may get dinged before I go. Stay positive and maybe someone won't be able to attend and you will get the invite.

Yes, I have a valid B1/B2 visa, but I suppose Yale SOM might have automatically assumed that it was not the case. I guess, I should have mentioned it somewhere on my application (where?) or sent them an email about this. And then again, any or all parts of my application might have been weak.

I hope you get accepted!

And I am staying positive, it is not the end of the world! I am going to visit Yale in November.

Thanks for the words of support, and keep us posted on how things go in New Haven.

Does your status say your GMAT scores have been received, or that they're still waiting on them?
