nervous,

Wait until year end when people start taking holidays and time off and you are the only person slugging on the project.

Just take time off - 2-3 days. Close yourself in a room and work on your essays non stop.

IF I get into some school, plan to sell my place in March/April, go travel for 2 months, and then start the relocation process. That's IF I get in... oh please let me get in!

this would feel a lot less futile if the amount of work i put into these essays were directly correlated to my admittance... unfortunately, it seems like a total crapshoot!

My wife and I were talking about what we will do if we sell our house quickly. If we list it in March/April and it sells immediately we wil need to be out in a month or so. We have decided that we will do a trip around the country for a month or two. Camp in all the places I went to as a kid but she has never been to...Yellowstone, the badlands, Black Hills, Rushmore, Grand Canyon, etc. Like you said IF I get in somewhere haha.

river, I long to go back to Yellowstone again and spend a week there. I did a "whirlwind" tour of it in one day (yeah, crazy) during my graduation summer road trip. It was one of the most BEAUTIFUL places on Earth.

As for housing, yeah, I would probably quit my job first, move into the place I will be going to school at, and then clean up the condo (replace carpets, scrub down, etc...) and sell it before I leave for my trip. I don't think I can really afford to pay the mortgage every month after I quit my job.

in the Bay Area, condos in my city are selling within a month at the same price as last year. I just hope the good times continue (Google is next door, which is why people are still buying like crazy)

Where we live house prices have still been going up. A house that has newer baths and kitchen sell pretty quickly if not insanely over priced. 30% of the houses are still going over asking, and its something like 85% are going with 10K of asking. Our house (once I am done this winter) will have a new roof, new siding, new heat system, new windows and doors, 3 new baths, a new kitchen, new staircase, new hardwood floors throughout, a new laundry room, new electrical and plumbing in some areas, a completely landscaped yard, and a ton of other smaller improvements. We will make money thanks to an insane amount of hardwork...though its been good essay material and was especially helpful for my PPT.

Then again it has led to a few emergency room visits haha. Including sunday night.

I can totally relate, Nervous. Between work and apps I'm having trouble finding time for life. My exercising has diminished and so has my health. Thankfully, now that I've got at one app in the can, I feel like I have a good understanding of my positioning, my goals and how to approach the essay topics... lets just hope that my approach works out!

Ahem... I already feel bad for taking days off "to visit my family" and "fly out for my friend's b-day" and leaving at 5PM for "Dr. appointments" - read "going to school visits" and "attending school presentations in the evening in my area." Plus, we are so short on staff that getting sick means working from home anyway, unless I am hospitalized...

Never in my life have I thought that application process would be so time-consuming and stressful (I HATE lying to my boss!!!).

I am looking forward to January 1st, R2 deadline for most (if not all) the schools I am applying to. I will start seriously exercising and taking care of my female-self in 2008!

There was an 07er who spent about 3 months "working for home" last year after he got admitted.
