Mine says "submitted." Is it supposed to say "complete" at some point?

Anyone have the recommendation form? I can't find anything online and their site isn't exactly user friendly. I don't have an online application account yet so I cant find one there if it is there.

Welcome to team Fuqua (applicants atleast) River :) I have a suggestion if you have not already thought about it- VISIT BEFORE applying (that also enables you to finish interviewing). I think you gain some real meat for your essays through the visit (more so than other schools) as you spend a lot of time talking with the first year students who hang around the interviewee's lounge.

Great school :) and I also did do some research on IT/SW jobs for wifey there and it seems like an active area. If I may ask- any reason you dropped Tuck?

A few things, we live in a similar area (small new england city) and are looking for a change basically. We love the area but its so isolated, almost 3 hours from boston...its far more off the beaten path than where we live now.

During my tour it just seemed a lot like an undergrad feeling in a lot of ways. Sure that creates a tight knit community but I really didnt like that 80% of single 1st years living in a dorm attached to the main building. The people were great and talented but some of the stuff they were saying just struck me as the total opposite of what I am looking for.

The real deciding factor, was that its a near impossible job market for anyone who works in anything high tech related. So my wife would have a hard time finding a job that pays what she deserves and its unfair for me to ruin her career so I can further mine. Thats a huge appeal for Duke, it has a great job market for her in the immediate area.

That is so sweet ... I really respect that and not kidding. You can give your wife a compliment that she is very lucky because you are getting into the school of your dreams.. and then after you get a nice job, she can chose to work for pleasure and not for the money;)

ndhlp is a microbiologist, just finishing his degree from Cornell. He had veto power over my portfolio, and Tuck got nixed very quickly. Same reason. And Duke got big points from him for the area and the economy here.

Hey AAu,
How are you doing? Is must be a typical holiday season on Campus with Thankgiving around the corner? What do students normally do during the Thankgiving weekend.. ??

Also.. like other colleges that are located in cold areas (Cornell , Ross etc) .. do you guys get any winter break?

BTW..How is your wrist now?

-Take care

I got no love from an email saying my application was complete...and I submitted it back at the beginning of October. So I sent an email today to the admissions office, and got a reply that they had my application.

Much less formal, but at least I know it's through.
