I hadn't seen anybody talking about Georgetown's RD2 deadline. It's approaching soon, anybody else out there planning on applying? The cost of living in the area around the school is somewhat of a turnoff, but there are always going to be pluses and minuses. What about RD1 people? Any info on people getting accepted, or is this an UE backup so people don't really know yet? I had no RD1 apps, so i'm sending this one off in RD2 in a few days. Best of luck to anybody else out there. My profile is in the profiles thread already if you're interested.

690 GMAT, Industrial Engineering (6th ranked undergrad IE program) with a Business Minor from Virginia Tech, 2.9 GPA but 3.3 for last 3 years. WE 5 years as a Nuclear Engineer with the DoD.

There was a thread, but I haven't seen it in a while. I know someone applied R1 and interviewed, but I do not know if we heard from him.

I am applying for R2, just finishing up my essays. For the most part they were cut and paste, tweak jobs from my other R2 applications.

The deadline is Feb. 8th right?

I received the admit call today. Didn't get any details about any scholarships though. The person from MSB who called mentioned that the no. of applications rose by 40% this year.

I applied to just 2 schools, Georgetown and Tuck (expecting a decision in Feb). And I am happy with the 100% success rate so far :-).

My profile is:
Indian Male IT Applicant
33 years
690 GMAT
3.3 Undergraduate GPA
3.7 Graduate GPA from Johns Hopkins
significant communicty activities.

I am in the U.S. Strangely I did not receive any email communication from the school. But the person who called me mentioned that they have mailed an admissions packet already.

Similarly, I received my admission notification by telephone. I received a call about 6:15PM E.S.T yesterday.

Yes, Georgetown is in a very expensive place with a high cost of living. But so is HBS, NYU, Columbia, Stanford, Booth, etc...Most top schools are in expensive places to live. However, DC is a lot of fun and I can think of far worse places to spend two years. Plus, I believe the Georgetown is a rapidly improving business school. I don't think you will regret your choice.
