Re: Community Service [#permalink]
Please try to refrain from doing community service solely for your business school applications. The school will be able to see right through you and you won't be likely to put your heart into your work. Service should be something you do because it makes you feel good - not because you feel obligated to do so.

Even if there aren't service organizations for you to join (which I believe there are lots of them in India) you can go out and help the community on your own - that shows initiative, leadership and compassion.

Agree :-)
Doing community service just for b-school application and then forgetting it is not a good idea. The admissions committe will make out whether you put your whole heart in doing the service. I suggest you to dig deep within yourself and understand what really excites you and satisfies you. If you have not done any comm service till today then be it. Try to cover up for this by something else in your application.
