Good luck everyone! As I said before, when I scheduled my interview on Thursday night there were 200+ on-campus spots open and they said they would be opening more.

Raj,

Gtown's website says "Interviews are conducted by staff, students, and alumni -- either on the Georgetown campus or at select locations throughout the world." When you went online, did it say anything about off campus location options?

In the e-mail I received, there were links to the following:

On-Campus Interviews
-Interviews in Asia
-Interviews in Europe
-Interviews in North America (not on-campus)
-Interviews in South America
-Interviews in Other Locations
------------------------
When I clicked the Interviews in North America (not on-campus) link, I saw some slots for interviews in San Fran, Minneapolis, Boston, NYC, and Los Angeles.

I guess if you live more than 300 miles from any of those locations (Gtown included), then you could do a phone interview.

"However, we realize there are special circumstances which may necessitate a phone interview. Special circumstances may include applicants stationed abroad on active U.S. military duty or who live more than 300 miles from an interview location. If you have a compelling circumstance in which you are absolutely unable to interview in person, you may schedule a phone interview."

What are your thoughts on applying to G-town in R3? From what I've read, the school doesn't seem to discourage late applications as much as other programs. I wasn't considering G-town, but I had a family situation arise recently that prompted me to investigate MBA programs closer to home. My GMAT is well over the average and my GPA is on the high end of the average. Do you think I'm doomed based on the timing alone, or do I still stand a chance?

I think you should apply. You're right, it doesn't seem as against R3 apps as some other schools.

Re: Calling Georgetown MSB Fall 2008 applicants [#permalink]
i agree with raj. i think that they are "accepting qualified applicants" in each round. i tend to disagree with a lot of folks (depending on what school you're talking about) that it is near impossible to get in R3. personally, i think that there are two other disadvantages to applying in the third round: 1) scholarship priority has already been given out and 2) in years like this or probably next year, applications are up substantially.

that being said, i would do it. you have a better chance of getting admitted if you submit an application than if you don't.

Thanks guys! I'm going to go ahead with it, and hopefully my explanation of why I applied so late will alleviate any concerns that I'm just applying as a "last ditch" effort and maybe didn't get in to my first choice schools (I'm still awaiting r2 decisions and have been waitlisted at 2 schools, so this isn't even the case)!

Best of luck with the r2 decisions!!!

Re: Calling Georgetown MSB Fall 2008 applicants [#permalink]
im copying in a post from hopeful2010 from the bw forum for those who don't frequent both  and are nervously hitting refresh all day long. here it is:

"Hey all: I called in to see if my lack of change in status is just a 'me' thing, and here's the update from adcom...

- Decisions will *probably* be released by the *end of the day*. No definitive word on when. Business day? 11:59 PM EST? I didn't want to be the manic griller.
- There seem to have been an unanticipated increase in applications this term (personal conjecture)
- It is *quite possible* that there will be interview invitations still extended today, as they have been going out all week.

I imagine the adcom office is a madhouse, trying to release their decisions today. I hope this helps everyone. Great luck to everyone, and please be kind and keep on posting with your updates!"

so i would guess by the end of the business day (EST) folks should know--but maybe dont be surprised if you dont hear anything! :( Good lunk everyone!
