I read on one of these forums that this year, GT is expecting over 2,000 applications, which is a significant increase from 1,628 last year. In addition, the alumnus I interviewed said GT is trying to size down its class size to around 250 - 275.
My guess would be that last year's 73% (% admitted who were interviewed) would most likely be south of 60%. Just my 2 cents. Any other thoughts?
Last year's entering class was 264, so the range the alumnus gave you doesn't seem like they're sizing down much.
Of the 569 who got accepted last year, 264, or 46%, enrolled.
If we use the same statistics as last year and assume that application are up to 2,000, then Gtown will interview about 959 applications. If we assume the matriculation rate (46%) will be the same, to get a class of 275, they'd need to accept 597 applications or 62%. To get a class of 250, they'd need to accept 547 applications, or 57%.
A 23% increase in apps is not out of the question, but expectations and reality are different beasts. Admission rate will definitely be lower, who knows by how much.
Your wondering should be over in the next few days, GOOD LUCK!
