Octane if you get the error message saying to contact the office that usually indicates a ding or WL...sorry.
Bewakoof and livehard, best of luck with the WL, keep at it but dont become annoying any you will stand a chance. Dont let forcefeed's ding from the WL discourage you, luck at his avatar and think of how much work he probably put in trying to get off the Kellogg WL.
ujjib, I think you have a tough choice to make and a few things to think about when you make your decision.
First of all post grad goals, are you hoping to go into banking on wall st. or management or marketing at a fortune 500 company. Both will help you on your way whatever you goals are but honestly each has their known strenghts, GSB=Finance while Kellogg=Marketing and Management. MC they are very similar with the slightest of edge to Kellogg but not enough to really affect your decision.
While I agree with a lot of what Steel says about skills, I do think that your school has an image that even if you dont fit it you will carry with you. What will be more of a benefit to your future career, hardcore quant abilities or the soft skills companies complain many students lack. Are you going into a very analytical career and feel that GSBs quant rep will be more of a benefit or are you going into an area where your people skills will be very important. Obviously you wont be completely stigmatized with either image and you wont only learn quant at GSB and soft skills at Kellogg but each school bolsters those respective images. For me as an engineer, I felt that the Kellogg rep would balance out my geeky sounding background. I mean my resume could be filled with all sorts of hardcore quant based analytics if I wrote it that way but no matter how I write it now, its still screams engineer...rounding out my profile was what really made me prefer Kellogg but I love GSB too(or I wouldnt have applied) and you definitely cant go wrong if you end up there.
Culturally, both schools are filled with great people. I think Kellogg has the advantage with significant others access to the school. GSB will have a more urban life if you do what many students do and live downtown instead of in Hyde Park. The vast majority (90+%) of Kellogg students live in Evanston. That said, at Kellogg you probably will have a bunch of classmates living in the same apartment/condo building and will have a 10 minute walk to campus, where as that wont be the case for most GSB students.
It really will come down to personal feelings. Hopefully you can make both admitted students, talking to a few people that have chosen between Kellogg and other top schools the admit weekends really are what cements peoples decisions. If you go to DAK you will probably drink the coolaid like the rest of us
No matter what its nice to know you will be in the Chicago area this fall.

Kellogg Class of 2010...still active and willing to help. However, I do not do profile reviews, don't offer predictions on chances and am far to busy to review essays, so save the energy of writing me a PM seeking help for these. If I don't respond to a PM that is not one of the previously mentioned trash can destined messages, please don't take it personally I get so many messages I have a hard to responding to most. The more interesting, compelling, or humorous you message the more likely I am to respond.
