Me too...

"It is a 'waitlist' letter." Don't lie to me Stanford, it's a ding. You know it, I know it. Good game.

Come on, we knew that already, 30, Banking, have never swum across the Atlantic and didn't receive the interview invitation. Anyway, it was fun to be there.

I'm sorry to hear that you got WL. Not that there's no chance, but it would be nice to have closure if that is how it is going to end up.

I've been skimming, and I noticed that you are 50/50 on applying next year to hold out for Stanford? Why, may I ask? Is there something about your goals and fit that makes Stanford imperative?

EDIT: I read another thread, and I see your reasoning. Although Wharton is Wharton, I can see how it would not be as exciting to go back to the school you went to for undergrad. Seriously, applying next year might not be a bad idea. However, I suggest that you leave Wharton off of your list. Rule of thumb for applications: make sure that the last school on your list is still a school that you would attend if admitted to nowhere else.

Re: Calling Stanford Fall 2008 Applicants [#permalink]
Wow .. that's insane. 1 in 40! I am glad I didn't apply to Stan. I am surprised I am saying this, because I consider myself one of those guys who encourage dreaming big. But it appears that the probability of an admit at Stan is just too low for the amount of time that Stan app needs. Unless you are absolutely hell-bent for a Stan admit, you are better off using that time to prepare apps for other top schools of your liking.

Those of you who got waitlisted, you guys have done a great job. Kudos! And all the best for getting off the list. To those who got dinged, well, no harm done, right?

terry12, feel blessed yet?

My initial reaction was to save myself the pain and reject the waitlist offer, but sadly, I can't. I am in. Good luck to everyone else that decides to tough it out on the waitlist as well.

Won't be posting here for a while at least -- too painful. I want to thank everyone that has contributed to this thread and GMATClub in general. terry12 specifically has been an amazing help. Enjoy your time at Stanford, terry!

Okay, off to start a drinking problem...
