nice!

KWEST is quite awesome... 38 destinations (funny how the "Michigan Drive" cost only a bit less than going to Trinidad & Tobago). And what's up with the almost THREE week CIM/MORS? Yikes! Most orientations are 1-2 weeks max...

The Michigan trip is aimed at families, I didnt even look at that one but I met one of the organizers at DAK, the cost covers an entire family not one person like all the other trips. Its going to be like 4k for couples to go on KWEST. Also in August is the complete offseason in the Caribbean so they probably get some good deals on trips down there, so that could explain why some of those are cheaper.

I talked with students about the long orientation and they said its actually great because you get to know your group extremely well. Pretty much everyone said that the first several weeks of school were amazing.

ahh, makes sense then (Michigan trip). I just love the "Aruba, Bahamas, Galapagos Island, Thailand, and... MICHIGAN?"

CIM sounds like fun, but I think 3 weeks is a bit overkill.

River, thanks for the feedback. That is a interesting point about Kellogg's IB recruiting not being quite as competitive since it isn't known for finance. That probably holds true for other non-finance schools that I am considering (Duke, Cornell, Darden, Ross) as well.

TJ, thanks for selling me on the Margarita Inn. I didn't realize the "European Style Restrooms" meant "shared". I'll probably choose that option though since I am not too picky about things like that and am trying to save money.

Simple solution to the Kry! :)

Bee - I'm definitely going on KWEST!! (Even though I'm traveling for 3.5 months beforehand!)

I have fallen off the face of the earth for the last few weeks. I have been in the middle of finishing the last details on my house so we can list it (should be on the market by the weekend).

The wife and I are definitely doing KWEST, we are still debating top choices so its good we cant sign up yet. We did sign our lease for Evanston though, so thats all taken care of.

Kry we all know you made your mind up so stop giving us false hope. I am curious if Nervous made her decision, I know she was leaving the country for a vacation and said she had to have her decision in for one scholarship by now. So her mind should be made up unless she paid multiple deposits.

i am dreaming about KWEST as well. i havent made a decision between chicago and kellogg yet although i leaning heavily towards kellogg (mostly because they are much stronger in my field of interest). i must say though that i have had an AMAZING experience with the folks at chicago - students, administration, social life, academics, everything! this is why i still have not sent in my kellogg deposit yet :-)

that's what I'm worried about

Nah, not false hope, just not 100% sure yet until I do DAK. Spoke with a Kellogg MBA alum and current Haas staff about choices, and the person seems to also say Haas is a better fit for my career choices, even though like *everyone* has told me (including me telling myself), I can't go wrong with either school. :)

Of course they will tell you Haas, they work there so they are trying to win you over. Who are you trying to convince these days, you are just trying to justify your decision...its a well known fact that guys named after movies involving a dead guy being paraded around like he was alive are only successful if they go to Kellogg. I think I read that on wikipedia so it must be true. 8-)

LOL! :) The bad things that wikipedia can do to you. Stop browsing it river! :P

I read on wikipedia that students freeze to death walking to the Jacobs Center in the winter, so be careful now.

You forget that I am from a place colder on average than Chicago. I am not a sissy, I can handle the cold.

Like I said before, I would rather suffer in the cold than die in an earthquake, fire, flash flood, land slide or one of the other natural wonders of Cali.

Nope, didn't forget, just learned from talking to all the peeps from Boston and NYC area that Chicago is colder because of the wind, not just the avg temperature.

To each their own, earthquake happens and I'm dead, much easier than 4-6 months of cold. :P

I live north of Boston. My wife actually is originally from the one of the coldest towns in New England...its the one they say on the news every morning as the coldest spot. It is only really cold for 3 months or so, and enough layes and you wont be bothered. Come on Kry you know its worth the suffering haha.
