Brands, brands, brands... I never came upon the issue of brand used by a certain group of people in Europe or in Russia.
That's because you didn't mingle with football (soccer, eh) hooligans. They'd tell you of the importance of wearing proper gear - Lonsdale, or Fred Perry, or Lacost.
Don't you, snowboarders, have brand attachment developed as well?
I came upon that choice on the return flight from US. It was Detroit-Frankfurt. I was chatting with a flight attendant when he noticed my bag for documents (a bag that is worn as a necklace) and asked if I was FC Schalke '04 fan (this was the writing on that bag). I replied that not, just wore this bag. And then he advised not to show it in the streets of Frankfurt, because FC Schalke '04 belongs to different region and I could get into troubles, by showing any passion for them
The other time we had funny time buying a Manchester United t-shirt in sport stores of Birmingham.
Snowboarders are not really aware about brands. There is a very famous and expensive brand "Burton" that is supposed to be bought by rich guys here
Ah, and Oakley glasses/masks too. But I found it out only when I bought all my equipment...
