Count me in for Round 1. My college cut the football in my junior year, so it would be nice to have a team to pull for. My gf went to UM for law school and since I've known her, she has already decked me out in enough attire to get by for a week. At this point, I think I follow UM sports more than she does ;)

Hm... about 1 month earlier...
Not sure if I have time to finish all the essays....
So many essays, so little time

Anyways, I am debating between UM & Duke.
Which one is better for going toward the consulting route?
Both look pretty good but I don't see one standing out over the other....

Fatb,

I think both Ross and Fuqua provide good opportunities for consulting. Ross especially is known for a strong over-all program, but I don't think you can go wrong with either.

If I got into both, I think I would choose UMich, based on it's brand name appeal world-wide, plus I believe it has the largest alumni base of any school in the world.

Thanks for the input, Sam. :-D

I am leaning toward ROSS because a friend of mine is actually doing PhD in UM.
Kinda for the wrong reason... I know.
But, as far as consulting goes, I really cannot say if one school has the advantage over another after the ultra elite group.

Anyways, I'll worry about the rest after finishing Columbia's essay....

Does anyone know if Ross is known for a wait and see approach (i.e., lots of Rd 1 WL's)?

From the news posting:

"Those interested in applying to the Full-time MBA Program are encouraged to do so in Round One for two reasons. First, applicants who are placed on the waiting list in Round One will have two additional opportunities for review in the second and third rounds...."

I noticed that as well. It seems like Ross is indirectly saying that they will accept only highly qualified candidates in the first round.

I think they are just stating what happens at most schools...

I believe all schools follow the same policy, and I think Ross may just be putting it out there. But your speculation may be correct as well...

I'm looking into UMich and the more I look the more I like :)

I need a sales pitch to jump into the boat. Anyone?

I'm interested primarily in MC and IB

I toured it at GBR. The outside was done at that point but the inside was still a shell. Last I heard they still expected it to be ready for winter semester this year (so like Jan 2009).
