Wiki says that George W Bush visited ISB in 2006.....shouldnt that have had the opposite effect and knocked it down to 100 in the FT rankings????

I am in for Round 2. Adding myself to the list. I think ISB is a great school. definitely deserves a better ranking that 20, given by Financial times. I think it will climb up in its ranking in the next 3 years. I spoke to a ex-visiting faculty of ISB, who has also taught at Wharton. He was all praises. He said the quality of students at ISB is certainly comparable to Wharton. I have also spoken to a 2003 alum and got to know very positive things about the school and the program. I knew both these folks at a personal level. So I am confident that they would have talked about any doubts, if at all they had, but they did not. Overall, I am very impressed and so applying to Round 2.

Did any of you finish Essay 2 and 3 ?

How do you think ISB is going to do with the current recession in developed economies?

What is the job placement situation like -- mostly positions in India or overseas opportunities as well?

I've wondered what the work visa process is like for foreign nationals wanting to work in India. When I finished undergrad at the end of '04, my university was one of the first in the USA that Infosys tapped for hiring graduates to work at their Indian offices. I'm an ABCD, so it would be nice to have a project or assignment back in the motherland at some point. :)

Submitted my app for Round2 yesterday !! The speech( 2nd question) and the case (third question) took 80% of my time. Plus it was a pain to scan and upload marksheets of each and every semester, passport, 12th degree cert and 12th marksheet. And oddly enough, girls have to upload their 10th grade marksheets. :) ..This morning I got the App complete email too. ISB Admission staff is really efficient.

Anyone else in for Round2 ?

Has anyone else applied for Round 2 ? And if yes, have you heard back anything other than 'Submitted' and 'Completed' emails ?

I am thinking of calling them sometime next week if at all I don't hear back by then.

Thanks appuvar...Not that I think it is the best of the forums. But in this case, I guess it will be more resourceful.

Guys, ISB might be good, but the FT ranking is misleading. ISB is ranked above Kellogg for crying out loud. ISB is only good if u wanna work in india, internationally, u would rather go to a 2nd tier univ in US. As u guys mentioned, there is absolutely no diversity at ISB and during your MBA, u learn more from your diverse class than from ur professors.

One more thing, the salary figueres quoted by ISB are misleading. They are CTC (cost to company) figures. The actual salary in general is at least 25% lower. I have some friends who went to ISB, they werent happy with the offers they recieved after the PGP. But as I said, if u wanna work in India, u would rather study at ISB then at any US school. The ROI is great from ISB, and it sure as hell is better than the IIMs.

The Dean of ISB who is also an independent director at Satyam could land up in prison for upto 10 years! ISB should seriously consider changing their Dean. This is not good publicity for them!

Many ISB graduates this year are struggling for job ... ISB is an indian school for indians who look for job in India.... It is in no way an international school .... It is not even considered in business week rankings ....
