Welcome to business school?

Awesome, so business school (particularly Darden) is full of guys who think they can automatically get laid? Somehow I don't think it works that way, especially with the rather high male to female ratio.

ces1218 and toubab - knock it off you two. :)

I don't think anyone mean that comment really seriously. McDargoiowkel just "turned a phrase" there.

Keep it friendly.

Quote from The Rock (1996):
John Mason: Your "best"! Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and @&%! the prom queen.

I was speaking metaphorically: I'm the loser, Darden is the prom queen. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Two quick questions.

1. Did anyone who got the call today get offered a scholarship?

2. Last night I had dinner with a second year that estimated that ~45% of the second year class still do not a have job offer. Anyone, (Pelihu) care to comment? Is that normal this late in the game?

Still not bad! Hang on there Lev!

any R2 apps? Due to falling R2 app volume and R1 admit turnovers, some schools' R2 and R3 actually look good right now.

I was really pulling for you man! I am sure you can convert this......just follow their waitlist rules (if they have any).

Thanks, Raabend. Their waitlist rules seemed to simply be to click "yes" that you want to be on the waitlist and then hang tight. They said not to submit anything unless there is a "major change" such as a new job, a degree completed, etc.

Now, what I'm wondering is if I should take another trip down to Charlottesville and try to have another meeting with admissions. My trip there before was pretty comprehensive, but I did not have a chance to sit in on a class. Maybe going back, sitting in on a class, meeting with a dean of admissions might show dedication? What do you guys think?

Oh man, thats really annoying when schools do not let you send in update letters and such. Maybe you can look through these threads to see how last year's waitlisters handled it for Darden. Good news is, later round apps seem to be down from most schools so I imagine that is good for us waitlisters!

The best I can hope for is a waitlist at this point.

Why? Because you did not interview?

I interviewed Dec 8th. I am officially waitlisted. Anyone have any advice on how I turn the waitlist into an admit? Thanks. Congrats to those that are admitted.

To answer a questions I posted yesterday. I talked to an adcom just a few minutes ago, and was told that all scholarship offers (the big merit based ones) are made in your official offer letter, not over the phone.

Hey Lev, totally rooting for you on this one man. Like Ninkorn said this year apps are definitely down. It is probably one of the best years to be one waitlist. If you're near by, I would totally drop by, hangout in Charlottesville, chat it up.

Sorry to hear this buddy. Hang in there. Round 2 apps appear to be flat to down, so hopefully that bodes well for you. All the best!
