Hi Alex.
I'm one of those guys who goofed up in undergrad and now am ready to go back, get the MBA I always wanted, and pursue bigger and better things.
graduated in 2005, B.A math. GPA: an embarrassing 2.6. No excuses. Just made bad judgments.
After graduation, I got a job working in an insurance company, claims call center. I have been doing it ever since, and am currently a supervisor for a department.
While my GPA is low, I am confident that my employers can give me strong recommendations on my work ethic, accountability, self development, etc etc I am also anticipating a high GMAT score.
Question:
While I am like everyone else here wanting to go to the best school, I want to be realistic. I have low GPA, I have good employment history, but I'm not sure if it is considered "relevant." It's a call center. no finance, consulting experience etc etc.
Realistically, what can I expect? Should I be shooting for a 750+ GMAT score to be competitive? can I go to a top school? I've heard of doing things like getting an alternative transcript, but this is not possible at this moment.
Just for fun though, my dream schools are Kellog, London, berkley, and Mccombs.
thanks
