17. C or D
18. B (It is not E since it is not definitive - later studies plus the research by Raup and Sepkoski led to scientists hypothesizing about the force)
19. E (I will tend to lean towards E since A, B and D are not at all correct. And For C, I don't think the passage is about establishing any links between 2 sciences.)
