FYI

I harrassed good people at Yale SOM today and I received this info:

1) Orientation related info will be sent out in early or mid June. Orientation is scheduled during August 12 to August 21 2009. Classes will begin on Aug 24 2009.

2) You will receive email from Yale SOM (most likely in June) asking you to take Math Assessment test. Based on this result, you will be asked or recommended to take Math Camp.

3) If you don't receive an offer letter from Financial Aid office after filing FAFSA, you can contact them directly and they can email it to you. (However, give them time. Don't call anytime soon) You will need this letter to determine how much you need to take out in loan to cover your living expenses.

4) Fax in your permission for background check to Kroll if you will be attending Yale SOM.

5) Send in your medical records, sooner the better.

I am going to New Haven on Friday to submit documents to my apartment lease office, and hopefully - they will fax me my lease agreement next week so I can sign it.

Hey nink, thanks for sharing the info !

Could you tell me where the info regarding Kroll is. I checked the Adm. Student Website and it said that email will be sent in June with details about it.

You should be receiving an email. Kroll isn't big deal. Right now, you should get fin aid stuff done first, along with other arrangements. I will PM you for details.

Update on Yale Laptop

All Yale students of Class of 2011 will receive a free laptop (it's already included in our tuition) from Yale SOM.

It can not be deducted from tuition even if you decide to bring your own.

Therefore, don't buy a new laptop.

Hi, I'm new to GMAT Club and this forum (really kicking myself for not knowing about this earlier!)

Was wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me - I applied in R2 and interviewed in February but haven't heard back yet. I know I'll find out by this Friday if I'm in or not but this week is going to be the longest week of my life! Do you think it's bad or good news I haven't heard back yet?

I don't think its a bad thing I interviewed in early Feb and heard back last week so hang in there.

yeah, i interviewed in early february, and i haven't heard back yet either.

i know that almost all the people who heard back last week were acceptances (not dings) which makes me anxious about where i stand, but i guess we just have to push through the next 4 days...

I heard back last week and it was a ding. Also, in Round 1 admits heard on notification day. Dont look too much into it!

*ouch* MS Office 2007 pre-installed. I'm not a fan of Office 2007, but I tolerate Office 2003.

Hi everyone. Congrats to all admits and best of luck to those still waiting. I got the call this morning. Presently flip-flopping between SOM and NYU Stern -- planning to attend both admit weekends and then make a decision (unfortunately, Stern requires a $2k deposit by April 20th...).

Congrats on your admit.

You have a great option between 2 great schools. Have fun at both admit weekends.

I know exactly how you feel for me Duke's deposit was due yesterday, and I have yet to attend Yale's admit weekend! :shock:

i'm a college senior, so it was from the Silver Scholars Program.
