I will be applying to the top 5/6 schools. However, Stanford is #1 on my list, so R1.

I visited in APril.
Stanford is (obviously) an awesome school.
Students and teachers were all cool and friendly. They all seem to be really smart and chill people too.
Class was very engaging (they had a guest speaker to provide an extra perspective on the subject. Students had to do some short individual presentation as well..so it was exciting to see diff students doing their own unique thing).
Campus is beautiful (and they're currently working on a new building). My only regret was that i visited them on that crazy heat wave day..i think it was like 90+ F. People had to use their brochure as a 'fan' to cool themselves (yes, that includes me) while doing the campus + residence tour.

anybody else made a visit?

Sounds great. I think what really drew me initially to S were the smaller class size (tight community) and new curriculum. It also seems like S has a different approach to admissions (more personalized)... just a feeling. The blog entries by the admissions director are quite good. Re: Calling All Stanford Fall 2010 applicants! [#permalink]
I recently visited Stanford for a Women's event...and loved it. The alumni panels were inspiring women entrepreneurs and it was clear that Stanford supports passion in areas beyond traditional post-MBA industries. There was also a class immersion with a GSB professor who was brilliant, humble, AND funny. I was surprised how much I enjoyed his class after having some not-so-great class visits at some east coast b-schools.

Overall, to me, Stanford had a different vibe about it. I've never fully comprehended the "fit" thing since I've met a mix of +/- people from all different b-schools but I will say that my visit made me actually want to apply whereas the visits to the other schools didn't necessarily do that.

Hope this helps!

Oh! And I'm in for R1. :)

Giving Stanford a run. Will most likely apply R2 with HBS going R1, but could be flip flopped.

In for R1. A long shot but I dont want to have the regret that maybe if I had applied i might have gotten in.

Self reflection on what matters most to me and why under progress. How did some of the folks who got admitted to GSB approach the question?

R1 here I come...

I had applied 2 years back. Would I be viewed as a re-applicant? Thoughts anyone?

Keep in mind that the GSB is moving to a new campus starting in the fall of 2010... so current campus tours aren't particularly relevant from a facilities perspective.

Probably count me in for probably R1. GSB's waitlist was not kind to me for Fall 2009.

Count me in this time around as well. Stanford will be my stretch this year but I fully intend on applying...just not sure which round yet.

Good luck everyone!
