Well my friend just got invited to interview today. She submitted a week before deadlines. She got invited to the Woman in Business Conference so maybe thats why her invite came in early. Goodluck to all

Can you give us any info on her background--GMAT/GPA/Undergrad/WE? I realize it's not your info to give, but if you keep it pretty anonymous...

I'm a female and was wondering about the WIB conference invite too...But isn't that conference in February?

Listen to 3underscore, folks. There's no logic behind the timing of interview invites. They start rolling out in late November and continue through to March/April.

The earliest people to get admitted last year received R1 decisions during the second week of January last year, and most completed interviews either just before Christmas or the first week of January.

I know--I just got caught up because I was so surprised that someone got an invite already...Probably just jealous :)

I dont want to disclose too much info since its not my information. But I believe a reapplicant, with a 700 GMAT, decent GPA top university, 6 yrs work experience in some type of consulting (she trys to tell me but I have no idea), decent volunteer work. Hope it helps, I have also applied and havent heard anything so no need to worry yet :)

Since she's a reapplicant, her essays are shorter. So maybe the reason she heard back so soon was because adcom went through her application faster...

I think you are right. I am a waitlisted re-applicant from last year and have already received an invite. My guess is that they are looking at the reapplicants first.

agreed. that's pretty nice of Stern to be doing that. i think ive heard that CBS puts them in the back of the pile.

I doubt that's the case. The AdCom would pull up her essays from last year as well to get a better perspective of her progress since her last application.
