Congrats to everyone who has been admitted! I'm the VP of first year students in the part time student government so hopefully I can help answer some of your questions. I saw a number of questions about the waitlist. I was a reapplicant and I was waitlisted both times but was accepted off of the list the second time so don't give up hope! IMO, the best way to improve your chances during the waitlist period is to improve your GMAT score. Promotions at work also helps. The weeknight program tends to be more fun than the weekend program mostly because of the student profile in those groups. The weeknight program has younger students who tend to socialize after class more. The weekend students are older and either travel a lot or have families. You'll find that for a part time program, we socialize and network almost as much as the full timers which is one of the many things that make this program great. I retook the GMAT while I'm on the waitlist and improved the score by 100 points.

Hope this will increase my chances of getting in.

Does anyone know the database count? I believe all initial decisions have been made as of today.

Hi everyone. I was admitted as well, for the Weekend program. I submitted my application around 11/5, and got my notification last week.

Stats are:

GMAT: 750
GPA: 3.35 in Math
WE: 13 years in Financial Services
Strong extracurriculars, essays and recommendations.

I've sent in the deposit and completed my Kroll form. Waiting for my netid.

I referenced past posts prior to applying and thought it helpful to see other individuals' profiles. Wanted to pass on mine for future applicants.

Age: 26
WE: 3.5 years financial services
GPA: 3.5 - liberal arts major from competitive private university (some quant coursework with decent grades)
GMAT: 640 (significantly higher in verbal)
Good essays, presumably good recs, and some extra curriculars

Grades/GMAT were obviously nothing special. In my subjective opinion, I gained admission because my app reflected that I had researched the program, had interests outside of work, and was genuine in my essays. Lastly, I submitted my materials the day before the deadline, heard back in mid October, and will be attending.

The DB count has not been posted as far as I can tell.

I am a late applicant for spring 2010 and applied end of November.

Is there anyone who is still waiting for an initial notice from NYU?

Yes I am still waiting for a reply...i submitted my application on Thanksgiving, but I hope to hear back by the end of this month...

Got acceptance today...off the waitlist! Very best of luck to all who are still waiting!!

Me: Japanese female (moved to US in 2001)
GPA: 3.88 from international school (International Relations)
GMAT: 680 (Q48, V35)
TOEFL: 103
WE: 7 years - Strategic planning, multinational trading and investment firm
Good essays, strong recommendation letters, lots of extracurriculars in Japan and US

I applied on the original deadline of 9/15, got waitlisted on 11/5, retook the GMAT on 11/30 (previous score: 580), got accepted on 12/11.
I also received the package from Stern yesterday and started the enrollment process.

It looks like the stern site is no longer showing the list of incoming students to you guys? Previously, accepted students can see who's in their incoming class which is why people are asking for a Database count (to see how many spots are left).

Does anyone know when the semester begins and when is the lastest date to hear back from them? i'm getting anxy...

Hi everyone. I'm an Accepted and would love to help you out with the DB count, but I can't locate it on the website. It seems that reversemix is correct, we no longer have access to this information.

I CAN tell you that classes start on Feb. 1. There is a mandatory pre-term orientation the weekend of Jan. 30/31, so I would guess all decisions will be made by then.
