I just got an invite! Wednesday, 10:49am central. Way to make me sweat, Wharton.

Keep the faith all.

(p.s. submitted 12/25. early alphabet first and last name, if that matters)

I am setting up calls with people more familiar with the Wharton admissions/interview process.

I will revert back tomorrow with (hopefully) more info....

FYI a post from adcom claims 35-50% are interviewed:

Considering the strong application pool this year I would assume the figure this year is closer to 50% than 35%

I just committed the cardinal sin of near-deadline decision-doldrums: I skimmed my essays.

And you know what? I still like them, damnit. Better than my essays for most of the other schools. I even like the essay where I desperately beg them for money.

Maybe especially.

As per a current W student involved in adCom process: your chances to GET an interview are 50% (1 in 2). Your chances of getting an ADMIT post-interview are 33% (1 in 3).

Are you sure about this? I have heard from multiple people (based on adcom employee statements) that the invite rate is lower this year. Specifically, down from 50% to 35%. That of course could be wrong.

Well, I just regurgitated what the W student told me over the phone. I really don't have any data to back it up except that wharton is well-known to be interview-friendly -- usually 1 in 2 applicants get invited. I am not saying getting an invite isn't cause for celebration, but just that there are still ways to go before you head down to the nearest stripper joint with a wad of singles.

I wish they'd just give me my ding already, and put me out of my misery.

This provided a much needed laugh, although I think I am going to wait for the ding before I do a postmortem.

Hey greytmba!

How do you know that your Yale application is under review? Did they send you an email?

Thanks

Look at the bright side, out of 26 people, you beat out 14 of them....now, you only have to beat 8. unfortunately those 8 are superhuman :(

while scheduling alumni interviews, do you guys reach out to more than one at a time? or contact one person and then wait till they respond before reaching out to someone else?
