Hello,
I want to know if after working for 5 years, I take a break for a year to complete studies and apply for MBA as a full time student, then will this break affect my chances of admission at top 10-20 b-schools. What about employment after MBA? Will three years of continuous studies make me perceived as an academically oriented and not practical corporate oriented person?
Much thanks!
There is no blanket rule. If you don't have a bachelors degree, and you use that time to complete it, I doubt if admissions people are going to question why you did what you did. But they look at everything in context, which includes the profiles of your competition. They may wonder why you didn't complete it earlier. They may think it is a good idea for you to have completed it, but still find your overall profile less competitive, depending up on the nature of your work experience, grades, etc.
They are not usually impressed with people who look at the application process as a full-time occupation.
Best,
Linda
