I am graduating this year and considering taking the GMAT while i am still fresh and saving my score for several years before i apply.
Here's my situation:
U.C. Berkeley Economics B.A.
3.6 gpa
will be starting a finance job in NYC in july, and wanted to apply in 3-4 years
First off Im not sure if it looks bad to take the test 3-4 years before you apply
Second im only really interested in applying to top schools if this makes a difference
I downloaded GMATPrep and took a practice test with absolutely no prep, studying, or prior knowledge of the gmat and got a 650, 44 quant 37 verbal
my second question is regarding preparation, I am considering taking a full class but not sure if I want to fork over the cash. I would like to shoot for a 750, which doesnt seem out of the question based on my preliminary score (please correct me if i am wrong)
I know there are many different ways to study, and that different routs work for different people, for those in a similar situation would you recommend taking the course or do you think that using the resources on here and books that I could improve by 100 points
Thanks in advance for any helpful info
Evan
