Hello everyone,
Have to repost my question, as here the discussion is live.
I am living in Russia and working in the consulting industry (HR-related) for 4 years already. I have decided to make a next step, taking a MBA course in Asia-Pacific or UK. One of the choices is ISB. I will probably not get 700 GMAT score, but I am not from IT industry which makes it less competetive for me :-D
As far as I can understand, ISB has mainly local students intake, only 4% of international students in 2009. Is that number so small because there is small number of international applicants or because ISB is focused on local students mainly?
To rephrase my question - having less honours, lower academics results, and less GMAT score but being international applicant do I have better chances to get an offer from ISB?

The number is small because there is small number of international applicants. ISB loves diversification, so being an international candidate you have an edge over other candidates.

Really? This sounds promising! So even if I will have GMAT score below 630, they will take me just because I can make a diversification for the group?

Did I get it right, that next intake will be only for April 2012 and class for 2011 is already filled?
Thank you in advance for the answers

The application process will start sometime in June. If you are applying in Round 1, you'll have to submit your application sometime in September mid, and if you are planning to apply in Round 2, then you'll have to submit your application sometime in Dec or Jan. Completing the whole application would take around 1 month.

I would suggest to clear your gmat atleast 1 month prior to end date of application submission, so that you have sufficient time to focus on your application and essays.

Just turned to the FAQ on ISB website and found some relevant information on my question as well:
"- Will Indian and foreign applicants be evaluated on the same basis?
- Yes."
Now will do my best to be enrolled :-D

Hello people,

I am sorry for jumping in late; i see some activity in here now. Let me contribute :

Renuka : I think your question has been answered, if you still need any info just shout :)
gsfromrussia : Being international will definitely add to diversity, but still a decent combination of score, work ex, and extra carricular would be required to build a strong case.
bigoyal : i see that you have been quite active on this forum (>700 posts :) ). I think you can definitely help with these :
Is there any other active post for people applying to Ind B schools for 2011-2012 ?
The thread for 2010-2011, does it consist of people appying for 2011-2012.?
Finally, whats your story? 8-) (nice score btw )
[Now atleast i know one person from Delhi who is up for 11-12  ]

Everybody, please contribute more and lets infuse this thread with information & energy !
