Hi shuj00,

The Langone program is Stern's part-time program. Stern has several MBA programs, among them:
Full Time
Part Time (Langone)
Executive MBA

With the Langone Program you complete your MBA in 2-6 years at your own pace. The choices are:
Weeknights at Washington Square
Saturdays at Washington Square
Weeknights in Westchester (Stern has a satellite on the SUNY Purchase campus).

The same Stern professors teach in all rpograms and you get the same MBA whether you are going full time or part time.

Hows the Langone Program compared with the Kellogg and Booth PT MBA program? Does anybody have any ideas?

Hey guys! I'm totally excited to meet some of my classmates. Everyone's profile sounds pretty impressive and good luck to everyone. So I have an update as I took my GMATs this past weekend.

23/F/African-American
GPA - 3.2 from top Liberal Arts School (Spanish major)
GMAT - > 640
Recs -> Completed. Both done
Essays -> Still trying to wrap them up!
W/E -> 2.5 years with the same company (breakdown: 1 year in HR, 1 year in O&S Finance).

The deadline is May 15th, so wrap it up or hurry up!!!

Oh I also wanted to mention that there is an online chat tonight with two Langone students and someone from the Career Center. Check your e-mails and I hope to see/hear some of you there tonight.

Hey guys. Nice to meet you here. I am also applying for the Langone program. I am kind of stuck on essay 1. How do you articulate your Professional Aspirations within 250 word limit? Anyone can share some ideas?

hey ukyo,

i'm not sure what other people are doing but i dived right into answering the question, with a brief intro. with the 250 word limit, there isnt much room to give too much history or go into too much details about your short and long-term goals. i focused more on the short-term goal, meaning wrote more on that part. hope this helps.

I agree with the last response. Be very specific as to how your classes and the MBA will help your career in the short term as well as the long term. Also give specific examples of what you are able to offer to the program.

I have a question. I plan to apply for the Fall deadline, my application is fairly complete with the exception of the GMAT. My recommendations are in and my essays are in the final draft. I had scheduled my GMAT for next Tuesday but condisdering to cancel since I am still not satisfied with my prep. This will be my second attempt on the test so really need to do well and be done with it. Do I stand a big disadvantage if take the GMAT in June and sent in my application then or should I just wait apply for the Spring? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Sensible265

I am not sure what your prep score is. But you maybe amazed by yourself in the real exam. I scored 650 in prep the day before GMAT and got final score 730. So be confident.
Plus, once you are above certain level of GMAT, I do not think it matters that much.

Ohhh Finally someone in the same boat as me... i don't know what the deal is with the essays for Stern. its the odd 250 word limit thats really buggin me for the first one. I can't tell my story and finish it in 250 words.... on the other hand if I decide to stick with goals only, the esaay looks vague and out-of-sync since I cannot really provide any background to go with the story!!!
