Hi all, I just want to wish good luck to all new candidates. I will be joining Booth this Summer and I am as exited as when I pressed "submit" on my application.
A word of advice from me will be to try to reach out to alumns and current students. It helped me a great deal and provided me with great insight. Don't be afraid to mention those that helped you (after you get his/her permission). I was honest and upfront with my applications and it worked out for me so I think it is a good tactic. Let me know if you have any specific question and I will try to help.
Again, good luck!
Thanks for your kind words of advice! I hope Chicago treats you well this fall!
Funny story: I'm an American currently living in Taiwan, and reached out to Booth inquiring about Taiwan events just before Worldwide Booth Night back in April. The alumni group invited me to their get-together. I was the only recruit who came, almost everyone there had attended the EMBA program in Singapore and is quite senior in their respective companies. The event was held in a private karaoke room, and I was asked to SING in front of everyone!
Please keep your fingers crossed that my lousy version of New York, New York doesn't put me on the ding list
