They say Business School is about Leading but I say it is about Following :wink:
Use GMAT Club's "Follow" functionality to build your Network


In one sentence: it is a mixture of Twitter and Facebook - you choose the people you want to follow and every day you will get an email with summary of their posts. (Email is sent out at midnight PST)
For example, you may like Emily Sledge's posts (MGMAT instructor) or those of Bunuel or Walker or Scott @ Veritas - you can follow them and every day you will get a list of the posts they made - you will get every bit of advice, tips, and knowledge they share on GMAT Club - you miss nothing..

Interesting People to Follow:

Esledge - strong verbal explanations
AlexMBAApply - great application and essay advice

How Do I Follow Members?

That's simple, if you are logged in, you will see a "Follow" button next to their username.



How do I Un-Follow?

This is simple too, click the "Following" button and it will turn into "Follow", which means you are no longer following the member



Is that it? Not quite :)

You can also see who is following who - my favorite part :)
Click any username and in the profile, you will see who they are following and who is following them!



Is This Finally It?

Maybe but not really. This is only the stage 1 of the feature. Stage 2 is planned and we are taking suggestions for Stage 3 :)
See the settings and features in the User Control Panel too!

Hi bb,
does it automatically add those users whos profiles we have seen to the list whom we follow? can we change the list of the users we want to follow manually?
I mean if I have seen profiles of following users: A,B,C,D,E and F - does it mean that I am following them? if so I will start to receive every single post they have made, am I right? is it possible to see their profiles but follow only selected of them, for example C and F users?

I am not sure I understand you.
You have to click a "Follow" button to add a person to a list of your friends. That's how the "Follow" is determined. Click on your profile (members/member-45404.html) to see the ones you have already befriended and thus, following.

You can mass follow/unfollow people here: ucp.php?i=168

P.S. We have used the existing friendship system on the forum so that we would not need to re-invent the wheel :)

great feature building better dialog, also encouraging better communication now topic threads from the ones you follow, are debating and advising on and different subject matter will also appear enriching the education experience through exposure to new concepts, ideas and bonding mega kudos
