The GMAT Club tests, as many have mentioned before, are 700+ level questions and hence it would be hard. But I think it's important, if you are aiming for a 700+, for you to realize that using these tests as a way to identify and learn new concepts and tactics is extremely crucial. So it can be said for any other test you take. Try to use an error log or Walker's Timer with the tests and see how you perform. But don't get discouraged. Lot of people have taken the tests and "suffered" but they are always thankful after they get a 48Q. :)

I am finding gmatclub tests so difficult that I am almost losing interest and confidence in Quant. I am totally fine with OG questions but getting more than half incorrect on gmatclub tests. I am not sure what extra I can do for Quant other than the tests and the OG questions. Please advice.

I had the same feeling when I started solving problems in the MGMAT guides. Not that they are very easy now but I have a good comfort feeling with them now. Maybe after few days of exposure to the hardcore GMATClub tests you will also get comfortable with such questions.

I guess the trick is to never shy away but to keep constantly nibbling away at them. I am sure that you will get to your comfort zone with such question.

Seekmba, what level are you right now roughly? I am wondering if I should focus on these too.

Don't focus on results! Yes, don't focus on those results as many of the tests are taken by gmatclub members twice or thrice so the percentile is not correct measure of your ability.

Use these tests to train your mind to see tough questions on GMAT.

I tried out the (temporarily free) tests over labor day, and I was similarly surprised. I'm not sure how preparatory they really are for the hard questions on the GMAT, since they didn't seem to have a great deal in common with the questions I've been seeing on the GMATPrep software, but they were certainly challenging.

Re: Finding Gmatclub Tests very hard [#permalink]
Hey guys, sorry to sort of derail this, but what % of 600-700 level quant questions (I work through the ones posted on the forums) should I be getting correct to get a Q45?

I know that's not too great of a Quant score, but I really struggle with the subject, and would be more than happy to hit that score.

On some areas, I get about 80-90% of the questions correct (such as word problems/percents/stats/fractions), but on algebra (mainly raw math equations) i can barely get say 20% of them correct. My test is in 3 days and I've abandoned all hope when it comes to algebra. (I solve word problems by testing answers and/or testing variables).

So, is it okay if I get all 300-500 (yeah, I get assigned Qs as low as this on Mgmat tests) and 500-600 questions correct, and roughly 60% of the 600-700 questions correct to hit a Q45?

Thanks!

The problem is not how hard some of them are conceptually but actually
the fact is just that they have very lengthy calculations (ya even with the correct method)

Also the majority of hard questions appear at the beginning of the test and the majoirty of the easier ones seem to be at the end
kind of destroys the thought process in the beginning itself

Otherwise conceptually the best questions i have seen have come from Gmatclub quant tests
