Anyone that will chime in here, please have a look at my profile below and the schools I'm considering. I believe NYU or Yale SOM would be ideal schools for me in terms of fit and I plan to apply to both for R1, but I would like feedback regarding my admission prospects with each of the schools I have chosen. Thank you-
- Basic Info: 28 year old Male from U.S. (Southeast)
- Education: 3.3 GPA; Business Major from Top 25 University (Public)
- GMAT: 710 - V: 42 (95%), Q: 44 (68%); AWA: 5.0
- Work Exp: 6 years total
W1: 1 year; analyst with a small (<$100MM AUM) long/short strategy hedge fund.
W2: 4 years; joined Large Regional (non-Bulge Bracket) Investment Bank as an analyst; promoted to associate after two years.
W3: 1 year; left previous role to diversify industry experience for a risk management position with Bulge Bracket Investment Bank covering trading counterparties - finanical institutions and hedge funds.
Extracurriculars: Member and volunteer for a membership board of an art museum. Prior to moving a year ago, I played bass in a local band in Charlotte, NC for 3 years - played multiple benefit shows for local charities and released an album in 2008.
Short term goal: Post-MBA I want to go into general management strategy consulting, or find a management strategy position with a low-tech comsumer products company. Geographically, I have a very strong interest in relocating to NYC.
Schools (Game Plan): R1 - NYU (Stern) & Yale SOM; R2/Non-ED - Columbia GSB & UVA (Darden); R3 - UT Austin (McCombs) & Georgetown (McDonough)
