Hi Guys,

My first post at GMATClub. I have applied to the Duke Early Action. Its my first choice to attend school at. Still not confident enough. I was so busy with work that i could not participate in any of these forums earlier sure would have helped me a little more through my app. I have a question .. All my extra curricular s have been in sports as captain and vice captain. I am not to sure how the adcom will view this. Plus being in India i did not have a chance to sign up for the open interview. I hope i do get an interview call atleast!

so nervous about saturday.... interview at 9am - hope my interviewer is drunk from friday and just give me postive across the board .

This may have already been asked...

Does anyone know if applicants are notified on a rolling basis? Or, do we have to wait until the posted notice date?

Count me in for a R2 app. I've never been to NC, so I'm looking forward to checking out the area.

There is a date for notifications for both interview and admissions.

I interviewed on friday and the interview was very, very relaxed. I was interviewed by a 2nd year student and the questions were all very straightforward and nothing "oddball" at all. The whole time was very casual - it really felt more like a conversation than an interview. All the normal questions were asked, starting with "why MBA, why now, why Duke" then leading into typical leadership questions like "greatest strength, weakness, example of a time where you failed, etc" Since my interviewer was pursuing the same career/industry I am interested, we talked about that for a good bit too. Plenty of time for me to ask questions as well. ~45minutes total.

One note - though Duke does say business casual is acceptable, almost all the men were wearing suits. Not saying that you'll get dinged for not wearing a suit, but out of the 20 or so males that were there, probably 1 or 2 were not in suits. Whether you stand out in a good way or a bad way, or at all, I can't say. I doubt my interviewer would have cared. I can't really comment on the women's attire, other than they looked "comparable" to a men's suit.

Interview was very casual with no questions that aren't already listed on this board(why goals, mba, duke). Only others were resume specific questions, so nothing really to worry about there.

for the why duke - did you guys say anything non-academic like location, community etc? or is it wise to focus more academic stuff like GATE, curriculum etc.?

I talked about the opportunity/access that the school provides - for me it was the opportunity to learn internationally and how Duke places a heavy emphasis on having a global perspective on business

I pressed submit application about 5 minutes before the closing time because I wanted to wait for my application fee waiver confirmation, but the remaining submission process lasted longer than I expected, so I was 20minutes late.

Will this make me Round 1 applicant instead of Early Round?
If so, can I undo my submission and update my profile until the deadline?
If I can't undo my submission, can I still update the adcom with additional e-mails?

Also, as weird as it may sound, is it possible to revoke a submitted application for the next round?

^^^thats definitely a question for the adcoms. Call them and leave a message if they don't pickup they always return quickly or you can just email them. That would suck if you lost your EA spot because of their slow servers. I bet they let you slide
