Female, 30yrs old from singapore (i know i'm older than most B-school applicants, plus i'm female
)
I'm a pharmacist by training. I've about 6 yrs of working experience. it's not alot as i only graduated at 23yrs (4 years of pharmacy school. it's not that i was a late graduate!). However, i'm now working at a clinical research organisation (CRO) as a safety specialist.
My gmat score is 710.
My extra cirricular activites are mainly sports. I've been playing competitive team sports since i was in school, even while i'm working. I've also been a captain before but not in my current club. I've helped organised tournaments as well. I backpacked to neighbouring countries/third world countries alot. However, i've not done volunteering activities in these countries before.
Schools i'm aiming for are: Duke, berkeley, Yale, maybe UCLA. mainly because i want schools that have electives in healthcare/pharmaceuticals. i want to do business analysis for pharmaceuticals/CRO in future. i need an mba as employers do not think i've the credentials or the experience to do the job. i've no business experience!
My strengths are my gmat score, my unique industry and i'm an international student (?!).
However, i'm concerned that my age and that i did not do well in my undergraduate (pharmacy) degree will be huge factors against me.
thank you in advance!
