Calling ISB 2012 Applicants - Let's Roll

Hi,

I got interview invite for Jan 22nd yesterday, but since I am traveling for some reasons, Admissions office changed my interview from in-person to telephonic interview. Could anyone share his/her experience regarding telephonic interview ?

I believe candidates need to write some essay before the in-person interviews. Any ideas what is the process for telephonic interviews ?

I am not sure if you have looked thru this thread. It has tonnes of data about ISB interview experience. Just google for pagalguy 2012 ISB interview and you should be able to get the thread.

per the Pagalguy forum, atleast 1 international applicant received a call for 3rd Feb. Lets hope we see more calls in the next few days

Indian Male in US since 2003
B.Tech from India (ok %)
MS in EE, Good GPA
5+ years work ex in Aviation Industry (Non-IT)
Decent to Good EC
Bad GMAT - Mid 600 (I know this kills me but ........

Thanks mn2010. I was trying to figure out a trend on when were the international calls last year sent out, but I could not figure out much. I hope if the interview invite comes they give me couple of days as I have not preped at all for the interview and it has been quite some time I looked at my app. Hoping for the best.

This is what I got when I followed up with ISB AdCom on International Interview invites.
"We are still doing them. Calls will be sent out any time before 31 Jan." So another 10 days of wait and we will know if we are getting interviewed :D.

Words of wisdom from Fulla@pagalguy on telephonic interview. Sharing it here as it would be of special interest to all the international applicants.

0. Add the isb's skype id in your buddy list anytime you want.
1. On the day of the interview, you would need to dial the telephone number from the email.
2. After the greetings, ask them if they are ready to accept your skype video call. To me they said - take this word - take a minute to prepare - and once you ready, dial video call and speak on that word for a minute
3. Make sure you are suited booted and remove any pictures you dont want them to see from the background.
4. Arrange a hand-free, bluetooth etc. so that you are not holding the phone while on the video.
5. Mute your laptop/computer mic to avoid the echo.
6. Enjoy the experience.. they are good bunch of people!

My skype interview scheduled for Feb 1st.

Thnx . I am from Bangalore only, but had to travel at the last moment because of some emergency. I was called in for in-person interview first, but after speaking with the Ad com, they changed it to skype based interview.
