For someone hoping to move to Germany to enter into the work market there, which university is better-respected within the German-speaking region, and/or which university provides better connections to employers? Which is in a nicer place to live for a year? Which would you choose? Informed comment appreciated.
You cannot go wrong with Mannheim or WHU from a business school reputation if you want to work in Germany. The main "issue" is that the MBA has a low relative valuation in Germany as compared to the US / UK, meaning that employers are not "wowed" and/or are flocking to campus to hire you. Both school's MBA programs are young. It's the same "issue" that St. Gallen's MBA program has.
Most firms are targeting the under-graduates of all three institutions or specialized Master's / PhD students.
However, don't let these comments dissuade you from pursuing either of the 3 schools named above. They are like the H / S / W equivalents of the German-speaking region.
