Knewton online course. Review.

Yeah I have the same feelling with Knewton's Cat. Though I consistently score 50 in Quant in GMATPrep, it gave me a 46 with the same number of incorrect questions. And I also finish Quant section in less than one hour too, ( don't know why I scored less when it seems easier) But it took me almost of time to finish GmatPrep Quant.

In addition, the Verbal part is quite good, but I don't think their SC questions are similar to those in OG. CR and RC are pretty easy.So it also took me less time to finish than do the GmatPrep.

Are there any new comments on this programme? all the reviews here are more than 6-7 months old..

Im thinking of enrolling for this but cannot make my mind up..

Does any one have an updated review about Knewton online course? I am trying to decide between Knewton+8 MGMAT books or just Veritas OnDemand course (that also includes their 15 books). Any suggestions are appreciated.

Would love to know the answer to this as well, I have all MGMAT guides, and I'm thinking that 50 point guarantee sounds really good considering I really need to beat 700

I finished my Knewton course and done with my GMAT. the course is good and the course content helps as well. as mentioned in the post, their scoring is a bit skewed. the CAT exams do represent GMAT difficulty, but the algorithm sometimes act strange. the trainers are interesting. like all course, knewton too helps to cross 600. but to go above 700 would require better strategies. Conclusion: knewton helps with the basics and some strategies for 600-700 range. their explanation and concept queue are worth loving.

Purchased Knewton course today, and planning to start the course in mid-April (and my GMAT preparation in general). I didn't attempt their CAT yet, so curious to know my baseline and what they have to offer.

Please share your feedback on how the Knewton classes compared to mgmat

Let me begin by saying that I've attended only one mgmat trial class before enrolling in Knewton. It was class #1 I guess, so it was more like Knewton's class #2 first part, where they introduced GMAT components with a few examples.

The live class interface, concept of instructor teaching and TA helping with questions simultaneously, polls, giving a question to try for two minutes etc. are all very similar in both. The quality of instructors & TAs, to me, was also equally good on both of them.

Of course, knewton has a few additional videos that are in excess of their advertized 39 hours. You can use these and some additional quizzes if the 'concept queue' shows that you are weak in some areas. I am using them regardless, since I just started preparing. They also have on demand classes in addition, taught by different instructors.

So the difference for me was - mgmat classes use mgmat guides heavily in their questions, concepts and shortcuts, while Knewton is dependent on their own material. I really wanted to practice mgmat guides (which are simply the best) but wanted to listen something different in classes. I could get that with Knewton, and for much cheaper than mgmat or veritas or any other course available out there.

Based on my one class experience, I believe that most things are similar. So it boils down to - do you want to stick to one set of material in class and in your practice or do you want to get different perspective and different practice questions?

I would suggest that you try the trial classes from both of them and decide what works for you.
