I see most schools want two referees who know you in a professional capacity.

What would be a better choice?

A) Colleague whom you have worked extensively and a current supervisor?

B) Colleague whom you have worked extensively and a former supervisor?

Hi-- current supervisor is generally preferred if possible! But if not possible you can explain why that is and use former. The most important element is that your recommenders be people who know you well enough to share good stories and anecdotes to illustrate your strengths!

Is it ok if the two references are from the same organisation?

Hi MBAMission,

During the application process, should we send/mention all scores (in my case for the GRE). I took the exam 4 times, and the first 3 times were tough but I finally achieved a competitive score for my target programs on my 4th attempt. What do schools think about if you send them 3 average scores and on the 4th one, a score that meets their average? Do they look down on that? Specifically referring to top 25 programs in my case.

Thanks!

It can be ok, yes, many applicants are in that situation... you have to use what you have and what is feasible... if all else was equal and you had 2 great options from 2 different organizations, sure that would be slightly preferable... but you have to do the best you can with the options you have.

Hi there,
Schools take the highest score, so no stress on that point. In fact many have a place on your application where you indicate your score of choice, and they may only look at the official report for verification later on. Even if a few ask you to list all scores or similar, they just focus on the top score.
