Don't know about exceptional but I thought my goals were clear, essays were strong, drew effectively on my work and extra-curricular experiences, and I made a sound case for why I wanted to go to and would fit well in Columbia. However, this will probably be true of other applicants as well.

If I were to guess, I would say the application going complete really quickly can often just be about luck, if the adcoms are focused on it on a particular day etc.

The rest of you... we're pulling for you! If you have any questions on the app process or in general don't hesitate to ask... since we're clearly building a wealth of knowledge in regards of admits here ;)

Nope, haven't heard anything yet :( . If I don't hear anything by 5 I was probably put in the ding pile and status will update online same day as everyone else.

here's my data point: submit 7/29, complete 8/23.

Thanks everybody!

I swear, I must have missed their call yesterday! I missed a call from an unknown caller ID, the same ID that my call came from today! And I've been stressing since then due to the timing of the other half dozen admits and the fact that that the unknown caller didn't leave a voicemail.

Anyways, SOOOO happy I can stop stressing about this! What an awesome day!

And for anyone that cares:

The phone number indeed says "unavailable" for me as well.. however given that nobody calls me from blocked #'s.. I knew what to expect when I saw it :)

Had my interview this morning and then missed a call from a blocked number later in the afternoon. Logically I knew it wasn't Columbia, but it still made my heart jump a little. Congrats to everyone who got in so far this week!
