Great! I love specific questions!
-I did my schooling from a small town and then prepared for my college for two years. How severally it will affect my application?
Not at all. this is you being ambitious within the possibilities you had!
-I hope gap of 2-3 months gap between two jobs does not hurt ? Am I correct ?
Correct. As long as it's not six of them. And any way we do try and cover them up a bit when we can.
-I am aiming college from 4th to 15th rank. How realistic is the aim?
Realistic. Let's expand this list from 4 to 25, and get personal and specific about which schools are right for you and your chances will only get better.
- Any suggestions on the split of High/Medium/Low schools?
Start with 2,2,2 if you can add more (timewise and energywise) do so.
-I am thinking about targeting Cornell, Duke, Kellogg, Darden and Yale. Please comment on my chances there
The approximate order of difficulty from most to least: Kellogg, Duke, Yale, Cornell, Darden
-Coming from highly competitive Indian male engineer pool, should I apply to only 1 or 2 schools in R1 and then rewrite the GMAT before R2
No! do NOT retake your GMAT at this point. it's a HUGE mistake when you already have a 710. Use your energy to make kickass applications!
- Though I was quite active in extra-curricular activities during my college days, but I have not done much since then (2007). Will the previous work will be counted or it's only the recent work that does?
Previous work of course counts. Recent work as well also does however
and voila!
