Paragraphing in Essays

Sort of a silly question, but I've been so casual writing emails and other documents that I'm wondering what's the proper form for paragraphing?
I'm used to writing things like this:
Paragraph 1 - About GMATClub. Every year, brilliant minds of business school applicants develop strategies, research school information, and master interviews, only for the same process to be repeated the following year by the new applicant pool.
Paragraph 2 - About GMATClub. Every year, brilliant minds of business school applicants develop strategies, research school information, and master interviews, only for the same process to be repeated the following year by the new applicant pool.
Paragraph 3 - About GMATClub. Every year, brilliant minds of business school applicants develop strategies, research school information, and master interviews, only for the same process to be repeated the following year by the new applicant pool.
But I'm also used to seeing the other versions such as no line break between paragraphs, all paragraphs indented, or the first paragraph not indented and others are. I know probably not a big deal either way, but just...humor me.
