Time taken for the tank to overflow = 32/(7+1) = 4 minutes
[If pipe B can fill the tank 6 times faster than pipe A, it will fill the tank 7 times faster than pipe A]

I got it wrong here; I considered time 32/6 & proceeded.

Can you kindly elaborate as to why 6/32 + 1/32 was done?

Maybe I am missing something but the answer seems wrong:
Pipe A can fill 1/32 of the tank in 1 minute. Pipe B is 6 times faster, which means that it can fill 6/32 of the tank in 1 minute. Therefore, the two pipes fill 7/32 of the tank in a minute. If they need X minutes to fill the tank together, x*7/32=1; x=32/7. The answer is B.

There is subtle mathematical difference between "x is 6 times faster than y", which means x=y+6y=7y, and "x is 6 times as fast as y", which means x=6y.

Let us say that the tank's capacity is 32 liters

Pipe A's rate = 1 liter per minute, Pipe B's rate = 6 liters per minute

Together their rate is 7 liters per minute

To fill 32 liters they will take 32/7 minutes to fill the tank and 32/8 for the tank to overflow

We are given that pipe A can fill a tank in 32 minutes and pipe B can fill the same tank 6 times faster than pipe A. That means pipe B can fill the tank 7 times as fast as pipe A.

Thus, the rate of pipe A is 1/32 and the rate of pipe B is 7/32. We can let t = the number of minutes the pipes work together and create the following equation to determine t:

work of pipe A + work of pipe B = 1

(1/32)t + (7/32)t = 1

8t/32 = 1

t/4 = 1

t = 4
