Dear Members,
This is Ashish Korpal, from India. Recently, I gave GMAT and I was able to score only 490 with individual bifurcation of 37 Quant (44%) and 20 Verbal (20%). I badly want to score near 700. Please help me and guide me. What should be my plan of action. I have scheduled GMAT on 30 OCtober. Also I scored 5 in AWA and 5 In IR.

Hi Ashish,

First Question: do you want to apply this year?
What is your current GMAT score? (with break-up)
Which all mock test have your given and how did you perform?
1. Make an error log. And start working on your weaker areas.
2. For Verbal: Check out Thursdays with ROn videos(link in my signature)
3. For improving Quant score check out the link in my signature.

Good Luck!

Good luck, there's plenty of room for improvement. You should start by mastering one section at a time - learn all the fundamentals and figure out the tips and tricks to answering the question fast and efficiently. You'll want to do this for each question time to maximize your chance of scoring higher on your next test.

Create a study plan around mastering each section - look for effective resources. After learning fundamentals you can try some practice questions - one area you can check out is Practice Pill Questions - you can sign up and track your questions through an error log.

After mastering each section, review questions at random - on the actual test you'll see all types of Verbal questions mixed in after each other. You are not tested all SC questions then all CR - they are all mixed up. So go ahead and pick questions at random to simulate that experience.
