Parents are the best teachers. Agree or disagree? Examples and reasons?
After introspecting, I would agree with the statement that parents are the best teachers. They may not be the one who solved my tricky math problem or explain me Archimedes' principle. But, they are the one who taught me how to face life with dignity and prosperity, how to be composed in a tough situation or how to resolve a dilemma. They taught the basic skills to thrive in today’s global world.
To begin, my first thought was have I really learnt something from them. Like any other 25 year old, I feel I'm nothing like my either parent or I'm a better human than them. But it is actually through their guidance, I glided through my childhood and teenage smoothly. They are the one who taught me how to face difficulties.
Many times, their response seems like indifference but actually they were teaching me to face problems on my own. There was a time in college when my father limited my pocket allowance to 50$ a month. I felt like a miser at that time, but actually it taught me to be self-reliant. I started tutoring in second year and didn’t depend on anyone financially.
I also remember when my mother use to tell do my homework without anyone's help. It seems at that time she doesn't have time for me, but I remember her peeping every time to check if I'm fine. She knew that I was smart and can do things on my own. Today, I don’t freak out in a difficult situation and able to resolve them. These are small skills which are necessary for life, skills which can’t be taught at any school.
At time, it may seems that parents are orthodox and obsolete. They may seems indifferent and domineering. But their interest is own well-being. Through these small experiences, my parents have taught me face life bravely and they are the best teachers I can ask for.
